Birth services

Prenatal meetings
A 1-2 hour meeting crafted around your needs and concerns throughout the process.  Topics covered can include: childbirth education; writing of a birth plan; postpartum planning; coping mechanisms; basic movement and breathing techniques; implementation of emotional and physical comfort measures; relationship building; transition to parenthood; and caring for partners, siblings and families.

Labor and Birth Support
24/7 virtual support during early labor and in-person support at your home and/or your birthing facility, which can include: emotional support; creating an environment of privacy, comfort and intimacy; providing physical support to promote comfort and progress in early and active labor; assisting with positions and maintaining mobility during labor; offering support, suggestions and rest time for partner; support through various medical interventions (e.g., induction, IV and epidural placement, fetal monitoring, cesarean section); and immediate postpartum support during the “golden hour” following birth. I will be on-call starting three weeks prior to your estimated due date (and will have a back-up available in the event of an emergency).

Postpartum support
The purpose of postpartum support is to ensure that the new family is nourished and cared for.  Daytime sessions can include: time to discuss and process your birth experience; breast/chest and bottle feeding support; time for rest and self-care; meal preparation; light laundry; and general household support.
